What Are the Methods for Resetting Freightliner Cascadia Computers?

When I reset a Freightliner Cascadia computer, I usually do it in one of two ways

Computer Not Restarting After Power Outage

The first is by pulling on the diagnostic connector and flipping the circuit breaker. This method should only be used if your computer is not restarting correctly after a power outage.

Computer Reset Without Pulling the Diagnostic Connecter

The second way to reset a Freightliner Cascadia computer is by removing and replacing the fuse. This method is recommended for those who want to reset their computer but do not want to spend the time and effort pulling on the diagnostic connector.

Follow these steps:

  1. The fuse located inside the computer is easily accessible by removing the four screws that secure the computer case.
  2. Once you have removed these four screws, you will be able to access the fuse within.
  3. Remove it and replace it with one that has been marked with a “+” sign.
  4. Then turn on your truck and allow your computer to restart.
  5. You will need to set your truck in drive or park mode before starting it, as this will allow the computer time to restart.

Your computer should now be reset and ready for use again!

When Should These Methods Be Used?
